Ringo Starr’s New Universal Album: See His Video Message

Ringo Starr is to release a new studio album on Universal in 2015. In a festive video message for his fans on his website, the former Beatle, now 74, announces that the as yet untitled record is complete. It will be his first album since ‘Ringo 2012’ came out early in that year.

Starr also says in the message that, having only finished their last dates a few weeks ago, he and his All-Starr Band “could be coming your way, February/ March.” The band, featuring Steve Lukather, Richard Page, Gregg Rolie, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Bissonette and Warren Ham, last month announced new tour dates for that period, both in the US and then in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and beyond.

“We have so much fun playing together, we don’t want it to end,” said Ringo at the time of the tour announcement. “The audiences were just great and so loving [in Latin America], we can’t wait to go back.”
